Speech Therapy

Speech, language, and communication therapy begins at a young age in our Daycare Center and continues in the early childhood and elementary school programs. Speech therapy is provided in individual and group settings and includes instruction to classroom staff regarding individual students and their personal objectives.

Which difficulties does this therapy address?

Speech therapy addresses difficulties related to communication, including voice production, pronunciation, understanding, articulation, eating difficulties, and alternative communication.

Therapeutic Process

Before beginning therapy, the speech therapist creates a “communication therapy” for the student based on her evaluation and consultation with parents and the professional staff. The profile is used to create the therapeutic program for the child.

The program includes plans for the sessions with the speech therapist, but also instructions for the educational staff and parents regarding activities that can be implemented on a daily basis.

Speech therapy sessions make use of the range of therapeutic areas in Seeach Sod, including the Snoezelen room, gymboree, therapeutic park, pool, and computer room.

The speech therapists at Seeach Sod are professionals who keep abreast of the cutting technologies and research and who have a special commitment to individuals with disabilities. With the exception of participants in the vocational programs, all Seeach Sod clients are entitled to speech therapy services.
