Choir Receives Keren Shalem Prize

In a moving ceremony on Monday December 17, members of the Pirchei Seeach Choir were awarded with the 2012 prize from the Shalem Foundation. As the choir sang a stirring rendition of "Tov Lehodos L'Hashem", the packed audience, comprised of members from all sectors, could not contain their enthusiasm. Some were moved to tears.

Yes, even with their black and white Chareidi attire, these special singers elicited admiration and inspiration among the mixed crowd.

The Pirchei Seeach Choir is very proud to be a recipient of the Keren Shalem Prize. Ever since the choir's establishment six years ago, the members have been improving their skills and performing in various venues around the country. After each performance, the feedback is the same: people are amazed at the professional, on-tune performance by these young men who are intellectually handicapped.

This embodies the key driving force of Seeach Sod's staff in general, led by CEO Rabbi Shimon Levy and the skilled choir director Mr. Chaim Sofer, in particular: finding each student's strong point and utilizing it to maximize his achievements, self -image and confidence.

To date, Pirchei Seeach has released four musical discs and enjoys positive feedback from listeners as well as from audiences who have watched them live. They also feel privileged to represent the religious sector and spread holiness through the power of song!
