But on this same night, 24 Anglo- mothers of children in Seeach Sod were getting some well-deserved respite at the Leonardo Plaza Hotel in Jerusalem.
When the women arrived, they first sat on the porch that faced the pool together with our English speaking Social Worker, Doreen Winter. Doreen gave an open-session for the mothers which focused on the importance of them making time to take care of themselves.
Then from 5:00-9:30, each women had a 45 minute spa session, of either a massage, reflexology or a facial. While the women waited for their treatments (and after they were finished), they were able to use the hotel facilities, like the gym or sauna. In addition, the entire time, the mothers were able to participate in a beading- jewelry crafts chug with a volunteer jeweler from Ranana. All this happened alongside women relaxing, talking, and enjoyed being attended to by waiters serving drinks and food.
We thank Goldie from Ranana for her leading the jewelry making activity and supplying the materials, Lea Bearlman for here tremendous help in making this night possible, Riki from the spa who helped the evening run smoothly, Doreen for her tremendous chizzuk and support to the mothers, and of course Rivka Bergstein, the night's coordinator, who literally makes dreams come true!
Seeach Sod believes these women are the center of their families and we know that by pampering them, we are taking care of the whole family!
