Once a week these two boys were given the opportunity for full inclusion and were given the potential to work their way towards joining the mainstream classes permanently. With much excitement and gratitude to Seeach Sod and Eitz Hadaas staff, these two boys will be leaving Seeach Sod’s school system this coming year and joining the mainstream Eitz Hadsas school system.
As a reflection of this monumental achievement, Seeach Sod wanted to create a “reverse integration” day, to highlight the discrepancies between a special needs school environment and a general-ed school environment. Seeach Sod invited the Eitz Hadaas class (which our two boys will be joining this coming school year) to our premises in order to experience a day at Seeach Sod. Our staff and students hosted the days' events while serving as “tour guides” for our honored guests. The activities included a workout at the gymboree, and in the snoezelen room, a tour around the school building, a special presentation and video about Seeach Sod, and other activities that helped bridge the two classes together.
It was a highly enjoyable day for both classes and we are grateful to our guests for their visit!
