Angels in the Snow

Mothers in Jerusalem had their hands full occupying their kids who were off from school for 5 days during the recent snowstorm. Now try to imagine what the staff .of Seeach Sod’s Residential Program had to contend with, having to occupy a total of more than 100 adults with special needs  around the clock

And try to think about the logistics involved in making sure food and medications are delivered on the snow-covered roads to 21 apartments! But as always, Seeach Sod’s devoted staff went above and beyond their call of duty, helping each other and helping the residents not only survive the extended homebound period, but to enjoy it as well! See photos below of the grand time enjoyed by all, both outside in the snow, and inside in their cozy homes!

Mrs. Leah Fried, director of Recreational Clubs, worked tirelessly to arrange exciting activities for all the snowbound residents.

Mr. Eitan Pinchasi trekked around in the snow, to hold bongo drum activities in various apartments!

Mr. Menachem Chubkin organized races, balloon activities and brought much cheer to the apartment residents.

Mrs. Michal Baum gave energizing exercise classes in the girls’ apartments.

Other staff members who proved their outstanding dedication during the snowstorm were:

Rabbi Dovid Reicher, director of Kollel Chazon Dov, visited apartments and cheered up residents.

Rabbi Esterzohn, a maggid shiur in the yeshivah trekked around, from apartment to apartment, teaching Torah to his precious students!

Rabbi Amram Glick, director of the Boys’ Vocational Training Center, visited residents in their apartments!

Mrs. Shosh Kahane, veteran social worker, devoted time to playing in the snow and building snowmen with residents!

Rabbi Shimon Levy, CEO, visited all the apartments and made sure everything was running smoothly.

Dovid Heller, an apartment coordinator, ensured that food was delivered to all apartments.

Yossi Margolis, an apartment coordinator, succeeded in maintaining calm, good cheer, and warmth – despite their lack of electricity!

Chana Tzayag, an apartment coordinator, cooked the entire Shabbos for the Aliyat Hanoar apartment in addition to her own apartment!

Moshe Manheim – coordinator of the Boys’ Respite Center and S. Nagar – coordinator of the Girls’ Respite Center, saw to it that guests in the Respite Center had a great time!

Heartfelt thanks to all other counselors and coordinators who devotedly ensured their residents’ wellbeing during the storm!

And of course, enormous thanks to all those who oversee management of the Residential Program:

Rabbi. Dovid Levy – Director of Seeach Sod’s Adult Division

Mr. Chaim Hirshman – secretary

Mrs. Ruth Kimmel – Director of Residential Program

Mr. Pinchas Weiss – Chief Apartments Coordinator

Mr. Yedvav and Mr. Shapiro –Logistics Team
