The event was organized by Seeach Sod AIM – Anglo Israeli Mothers. This get-together was a manifestation of the effort Seeach Sod invests into ensuring proper support for parents who are not native Israelis.
Realizing the vital need for native English speaking mothers to gain support and information from one another, Seeach Sod organized AIM as a support group for mothers of special-needs children. One of AIM’s initiatives is facilitating get-togethers for English speaking mothers, allowing them to interact with others facing similar challenges in their own language.
At last Monday’s breakfast, Rivka Bergstein – the organizer of the event shared the moving story of her special daughter, who passed away two years ago. Doreen Winter, an English-speaking social worker at Seeach Sod, spoke from a professional perspective and read aloud some heartwarming articles. The close-knit atmosphere, relaxed socializing, and meaningful conversations made it clear that the chizuk gleaned from such get-togethers gives the mothers strength to continue their mission of raising their special-needs children.
