Elul

Usually, as we begin to hear the sound of the shofar, the school year begins. This year, however, since Elul began in early August, the school system remained closed until a week and a half before Rosh Hashanah.

So what were the kids doing at home? We’re pretty sure many were climbing the walls from boredom as their mothers counted the days until the first day of school. Not so for the Seeach Sod kids! They were busy having a great time at the special “Elul Day Camp” that was run under the capable supervision of Mrs. S. Weisenstern, chief secretary of the Zaritzky branch. Some of the exciting activities included: setting up a Bedouin tent, preparing homemade pitas, an activity with bongo drums, balloon activities, animal show, baking workshops and much more!

A HUGE Thank You to Mrs. S. Weisenstern, who did not take a break for a moment, concerned only with the children’s wellbeing and enjoyment.
