Seeach Sod's Emergency Services: A Lifeline for the Families

4,000 families of children with disabilities have been helped thus far by Seeach Sod's wartime services.

A professional emotional support system, emergency 24-hour hotlines, and a special team of professionals ready to provide solutions to complex problems that arise are part of the comprehensive support system provided by Seeach Sod during the current national crisis.

Recognizing the heightened sensitivity within families of children with disabilities at this time, Seeach Sod mobilized to offer essential services. The respite program was expanded to operate 24/7, welcoming children in need of temporary hosting. The group home system opened its doors to accommodate well above its normal occupancy. The program directors personally visit students' homes and call the families to gauge their needs and offer timely assistance. A team of consultants and social workers provide vital emotional support and tools for resilience, so necessary during these difficult times.

Dozens of daily calls and close to 10,000 calls to the emergency line in total have underscored just how desperately families are seeking help now, and Seeach Sod's teams are there for them.

The students, confined to their homes for security reasons, received special sets to their homes with educational materials, visual aids, and crafts to help them fill their days with activities and learning.

Rabbanim conveyed special messages of chizzuk to the families.

Rabbi Shimon Levy, CEO of Seeach Sod, explained: "We want to pay attention to every single one of our 1836 students, as well as attend to their parents and other family members. In situations like these, we must listen attentively to the needs of the families and provide immediate response, because the needs are immediate. To that end, we established an emergency system that amalgamates all the services and found creative solutions for the various needs. I must say that the staff works day and night to ensure that every family will receive help as soon as it becomes necessary, and baruch Hashem we can see the results."
