Ministry of Education Unveils Assistants' Wage Increase

During a tour of Seeach Sod's facilities in Yerushalayim, Minister Rabbi Chaim Bitton of the Ministry of Education, accompanied by his office staff and senior Ministry officials, unveiled exciting news for the Charedi special education system: As part of the reform to increase assistants' wages in the general educational system, Charedi special-ed assistants will also enjoy a raise and an alignment of their terms to those of assistants in the public education sector.

The tour concluded on a successful note with a summary meeting highlighting the Ministry of Education's efforts in supporting individuals with disabilities and Charedi special education facilities across Israel.

Accompanying the tour was CEO of Seeach Sod, Rabbi Shimon Levy, along with the organization's management team. They provided the minister with an insightful glimpse into Seeach Sod's group-home system in Yerushalayim, as well as some of the additional special-ed facilities in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood. The tour included a visit to Seeach Sod's Yeshivah Shaarei Tevunah – Shearim and Yeshivah Belibeinu Binah. The Minister and his staff were extremely impressed by the students, hearing from them about their learning, the Mishnayos program, and the social experiences they enjoy.

Seeach Sod is widely recognized for prioritizing its "human capital" – the dedicated staff – above all else, and constantly seeking opportunities to raise awareness and improve their working conditions. Thus, the professional team that accompanied the tour was delighted to learn that the Ministry of Education is actively working toward increasing the wages of assistants in the Charedi special-education system and is open to suggestions for further meeting the needs of the special-needs population in Israel.

Rabbi Shimon Levy conveyed his appreciation: "The staff members working in Seeach Sod's various facilities deserve all the appreciation in the world and the best possible employment terms. We're glad to see the government's willingness to advance these matters. We are here to serve as the people's voice and work on their behalf until we achieve equality in all areas, including wages, allocations and working terms."
