At the yeshivah, they were greeted warmly by the students and staff. The Rosh Yeshivah of Shem Olam, Rav Meir Milikovsky shlita, spoke about the value of learning Torah and the importance of learning with boys from other yeshivos. He added that he hopes that this will not remain a one-off event but will lead to regular learning sessions every once in a while between bochurim from the two yeshivos.
The menahel of Otzar HaTorah, Rav Avraham Kaufman, thanked the Shem Olam yeshivah staff for their hard work to make the special day a success and spoke about the import of the day – rosh chodesh Sivan – which is the day that the entire nation of Klal Yisrael camped at Har Sinai, on the foot of the mountain. He quoted the Ohr Hachaim's teaching about the location that Hashem selected for the giving of the Torah – a desert – which teaches us that in order to attain Torah, one must negate himself, like the desert.
After the enthusiastic learning session, the boys danced together joyfully in honor of the Torah and, still on a high from the beautiful experience they had just shared, took their leave and returned to their yeshivah.
