A Taste of the Simchat Beit HaShoevah

Thousands of sukkot in Israel and around the world participated in Seeach Sod’s special Simchat Beit HaShoevah, along with individuals with disabilities. Despite the limitations posed by the coronavirus, Seeach Sod managed to unite thousands of families and to create a moving experience for everyone who participated.

Musical entertainment was provided by Yanky Rubin and the Neranena Choir, along with the members of Seeach Sod’s choir. As in past years, important rabbis, public figures, famous singers, and business leaders sent their best wishes to the children and adults of Seeach Sod and their families.

At the event, a letter from Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita was read, blessing the Seeach Sod’s supporters. Chief Rabbis Rav Dovid Lau shlita and Rav Yitzchak Yosef shlita sent special messages as well. Numerous politicians – including members of Knesset and the mayors of Bnei Brak and Jerusalem – took out time from their busy schedules to prepare moving messages for the children and adults of Seeach Sod. Famous musicians from around the world sent their best wishes as well, as did Mr. Yoav Chatav, the director of the Armanot Chen Hall, who employs a number of young men with disabilities from Seeach Sod.

Parents of residents in the Supported Housing program spoke about how their children had blossomed in the program and how grateful they are to Seeach Sod. “We feel that we are not alone in dealing with our challenges,” recounted one mother. “When we sit in our sukka and hear all the important people who have taken the time to make our son happy, it is extremely heartwarming!”

Seeach Sod sent cars with loudspeakers around Jerusalem and Beit Shemesh so that residents in the fifty apartment in the Supported Housing program could feel part of the excitement. The residents came out to greet the car with singing and dancing!
