Mayor Leon began his annual rounds at Seeach Sod’s large new building in Ramat Shlomo, in which two schools for boys will be housed – BeLibeinu Bina for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities and Sha’arei Tevuna for children and young adults on the autistic spectrum.
Mayor Leon was accompanied by a prestigious entourage of members from the Ministry of Education and the Jerusalem municipality. Rabbi Shimon Levy, CEO of Seeach Sod, thanked the mayor and all of the representatives for their tireless efforts on behalf of the children in the special education system.
The mayor toured the campus and was very impressed by the staff’s professionalism and dedication. He even participated in the students’ prayers in the new campus synagogue and was honored with an aliya to the Torah, as well as a Mi Shebeirach. At the end of the service, Mayor Leon blew the shofar for the students, as is customary in the month of Elul.
Mrs. K. mother of Elchanan, closed the event with heartfelt remarks: “I am grateful to all those who give Seeach Sod the possibility to embrace our special children in a way that no one else does. That warm embrace enables us, their parents, the opportunity to care for our other children as well.”
