Seeach Sod provides lifelong support to over 900 special needs children, teens, young adults and their families with a variety of activities including school/nursery programs, vocational placement, respite care and group homes.
The soldiers were entertained by “Menachem”, a special needs young adult with cantorial talents, who performed a rousing rendition of the Hatikvah for them. The soldiers were then treated to a VIP tour of the vocational facility and then broke up into groups. The female soldiers interacted with Seeach Sod’s young adult women, creating beautiful decorations for Elijah’s Cup (Kos Eliyahu), which is featured prominently at the Pesach Seder table. The male soldiers also created holiday themed arts and crafts decorations with Seeach Sod’s young adult men.
“Everyone, from the soldiers to Seeach Sod’s young adults and staff felt inspired by this encounter. A truly festive atmosphere resounded throughout the building. This was more than a doing a mitzvah or good deed. This was a unique meeting, where Seeach Sod’s young adults felt blessed by the visitors and offered heart-felt blessings themselves to the soldiers,” said Leah Mendelowitz, Seeach Sod’s Director of International Relations.
