Keynote emotive speech was delivered by Director of Aish UK School department and Director of Chazak, Rabbi Shlomo Farhi. Drawing on lessons from Shlomo Hamelech’s timeless wisdom of educating each child according to their path, Rabbi Farhi said that we must be aware that the child’s path may be and will be different from ours. This is especially true in education of special neshamos. Rabbi Farhi explained that our gratitude to Hashem for creating us all with differences is expressed when we recite the bracha of Borei Nifashos. His speech was both informative and inspiring.
A grateful father and recent immigrant to Ramat Beit Shemesh from Edgware, Mr. Simon Levine, expressed the difficulties his family experienced until they were fortunate enough to earn a placement for their son in Seeach Sod. From gaining life skills like talking, to accomplishing tasks in the home which typical teenagers don’t normally do, their perception of their son has blossomed. As his wife so elegantly stated, “We gave Seeach Sod a burden and they gave us back a son!”
Closing words were delivered by Rabbi Dovid Wagner of Golders Green, who related his experience in meeting the Israeli Welfare Minister, who was effusive in her praise for the work of Seeach Sod.
The ambiance was exceptional and the room was filled with learning ears and helpful hands. Seeach Sod’s first UK meeting was a smashing success!
