As the guests walked in to the Teddy Hall entrance area, women who work at Seeach Sod's Vocational Program invited them to purchase single Lilac roses which they personally created for the nights' event. The women were then escorted to view a magnificent exhibit highlighting unique aspects of growth, expansion, and special initiatives which Seeach Sod has accomplished over the last 45 years. The six-sectioned exhibit walked the guests through major unique aspects of the organization: Integration in the Community, Development, Unique Initiatives, Growth and Expansion, Community appropriate-Age Appropriate, and Early Intervention. |
The night began with opening remarks from Jamie Geller, MC for the evening. An opening song performed by 11 Ganei Eshkol (Seeach Sod's Preschool) children, warmed up the atmosphere and as the toddlers threw up 45 helium balloons, marking 45 years since Seeach Sod's establishment, the audience clapped along excitedly. |
Following the performance Seeach Sod's newly released video was shown, after which Jamie Geller introduced the girls of Maoz Yerushalayim, whose performance –"All Notes in a Symphony" consisted a major part of the event. Thirty Seeach Sod girls, ages 10-18, outdid themselves with magnificent songs, dances and drama! The main message brought out by the play - that every musician in an orchestra is significant in order for the music to sound complete, was further enhanced by Jamie's cooking messages- that every ingredient is needed in a recipe to make it whole. A resounding round of applause completed the show, making our girls the celebrities of the evening! |
R' Shimon Levy, CEO of Seeach Sod relayed a short message in Hebrew, that behind every child beats the heart of a mother, a teacher, a relative, whose love and devotion is what helps them flourish. The language of the heart is the most important communication tool.
As Rabbi Krohn addressed the crowd he expounded on the theme of the girl's performance : Without every child in this world playing their part, the world is not complete. Every student, especially special needs children, have a Tafkid in this world and without each one, the Jewish people are lacking. The Rav's message was powerful and the night culminated with the winners of the raffles along with an additional five winners who received a free cookbook – The Joy of Kosher, compiled by Jamie Geller. |
The evening ended with feelings of satisfaction and success. Seeach Sod's students shined on stage and this first public debut filled them with self-esteem and truly empowered them! We thank Jamie Geller and Rav Krohn for their commitment in enabling the audience to experience "A Taste of Their World"!
Seeach Sod thanks the evening's sponsors: Hamodia, Mishpacha, Bank Leumi, Hapisgah Cleaners, MaxiHealth, and Global Travel.
