Kislev – Giving From the Heart

Girls in our Maoz Yerushalayim school are dedicating the new month of Kislev to the theme of “kis” (pocket) and “lev” (heart) – giving with one’s whole heart. The project opened with a special party in honor of Rosh Chodesh and a demonstration of the difference between giving with a sour face and giving with a smile. The program included a contest between the classes, and the students also worked on a fun art project.

Over the course of the month, the teachers will record all the good deeds that the girls do on little notes, which will be posted in the huge heart that hangs in the school’s hallway, and each week one of the classes will be announced as the winner.

In honor of the month of Kislev and the upcoming holiday of Chanuka, the students in Gan Hindy prepared potato latkes.

They grated the potatoes, added spices, and took an active role in the preparation of the latkes.

The men in our vocational program participated in a Rosh Chodesh party led by singers Avreimi Moskowitz and Hershy Rosenbaum.
