Time to Celebrate!
Birthday parties at Seeach Sod entail great excitement and tremendous joy – in particular at our vocational centers, where birthday celebrations have become massive productions.
Does Abba say No? – Rabbi Menachem Nissel finds blessings at Seeach Sod
Rabbi Menachem Nissel addressed an engaged crowd at last week’s public lecture hosted by Seeach Sod, an Israeli organization, which provides therapeutic, educational and vocational services for people with disabilities. In addition to being an internationally renowned lecturer, R’Nissel revealed that he is also the proud grandfather of a grandchild with disabilities.
The school year is off to a great start
September 1st was an exciting day for all of Seeach Sod's students and teachers. After thrilling summer adventures, we were ready to get back to school. Everyone was excited - our 3 groups of rehabilitative day care, 9 kindergarten classes, and 49 elementary, middle, and high school classes across 4 different campuses.
Queen for a Day
On Sunday, 20 Seeach Sod mothers enjoyed pampering at our annual "Queen for the Day" event in Ra'anana. Coordinator Shuli Briggs had been in touch with the mothers in advance so they could choose from a variety of self-care treatments. Most of the therapists have been volunteering at Queen for the Day for the past three years. As one return volunteer told us, "It's the highlight of my year to be able to give of my talents and time to these parents, who need a break from their 24/7 job!"
Beit Shemesh Vocational Training Center is Back from Vacation!
After some summer fun, our Vocational Training Center is back to business. The guys and the staff were excited to see one another once again, and settled back into their happy daily routine of davening, Talmud study and work, with intermittent workshops designed to boost various skills.
