Seeach Sod Wins Welfare Minister Award 2020 for Outstanding Initiative During the Coronavirus Pandemic

Seeach Sod, an organization that provides services to individuals with special needs of all ages and works in conjunction with the welfare ministry, has won the Welfare Minister Award for 2020 thanks to the Corona hotel it launched overnight for people with disabilities from the Ultra-Orthodox community, and for providing top-notch services during the pandemic to individuals with disabilities in its group homes throughout the country.

One Good Deed Begets Another...

When Shaul and Naomi May were thinking of making aliyah from Atlanta, GA one of the places they visited was Efrat. Naomi recalls, “We wanted to find a suitable long-term home for our adult son, Yehoshua, who has special needs.

The greater Jerusalem area seemed like our best bet.” Their pilot trip coincided with the yahrzeit of Naomi’s father, and so they stopped at a shul in Efrat so that she could say kaddish. It was a weekday morning and there was only one other woman in the women’s section that day -- Phyllis Goldman, who had made aliyah from Chicago many years earlier and was a regular shul attendee.
