In a unique initiative, our speech therapist Mrs. Feder and music therapist Mrs. Rubinstein have started giving combined therapy sessions in Rabbi Shechter’s class in Beit Metzudot.
The combined therapy sessions are proving to be very effective in advancing communication, emotional and functional development. It’s amazing to observe how goals that were set by the speech therapist are achieved in the music therapy room!
Music serves as a unique medium of expression and the students have shown tremendous advancement in conveying desires and thoughts through music. Following the successful results of the experimental sessions, the staff members have implemented weekly combined speech-music therapy sessions.
Mrs. Rubinstein, the music therapist, is the one who primarily conducts the therapy sessions while Mrs. Feder utilizes the activities to help students achieve specific goals in language and communication.
